Is AI really faster and more accurate than traditional hiring methods? We ran a real-world test to find out.
In this post, we compare manual resume screening with Persona Vision’s AI-powered workflow — using the same job role, the same pool of applicants, and the same selection criteria.
The Experiment Setup
- Role: Mid-Level Software Engineer
- Applicants: 150 real CVs (diverse in format and experience)
- Selection Criteria: Skill match, experience level, tech stack relevance, communication clarity
- Timebox: Max 1 hour per reviewer in the manual group
Two groups participated:
- Manual Reviewers: 3 human recruiters
- AI Workflow: Persona Vision (CV scoring + interview question generation)
Time Comparison
- Manual: Avg. 48 minutes to shortlist 10 candidates
- AI (Persona Vision): 3.7 seconds to shortlist top 10
Result: ~780x faster with AI
Accuracy (Judged by Hiring Manager)
Candidates were scored anonymously by a senior hiring manager based on role fit.
- Manual Picks: 7/10 judged as high fit
- AI Picks: 9/10 judged as high fit
Bias Reduction
Persona Vision automatically removed name, gender, and photo from CVs during scoring. Manual reviewers admitted these influenced impressions early on.
Interview Question Quality
Persona Vision generated targeted questions tailored to the role and each CV. Manual reviewers used standard question lists.
- Persona Vision: Contextual, structured, role-aligned
- Manual: Generic, repetitive, often mismatched
Final Thoughts
Manual review will always have value — especially for nuance and final selection. But for volume, speed, and consistency, Persona Vision is not just an assistant — it’s a competitive advantage.
